Greetings all,
I've heard there's been a bit of confusion in regards to becoming a
heraldic officer. The requirements for becoming a heraldic officer
(within Ansteorra) are that you be a paid member with immediate access
to the Black Star, and maintain membership while in office. Also, you
must have a working telephone, and a valid mailing address. Also, you
must have completed a Heralds' Warranting Class before, or within 90
days of, assuming the office. Email access is not required, but highly
recommended.

If you're interested in heraldry, talk to your local herald, or other
heralds you know, about how you can get involved. There are several
areas to participate in (and learn about) heraldry that don't require
being an officer. Voice heralds (field and site primarily) are always
welcome, as are people interested in name/device
research/consultation/commentary.

In service,
HL Alden Drake
Star Principal Herald
