[Ansteorra] static versus bardic A&S

Looking at my newly arrived Blackstar, I notice that almost all events feature Bardic competitions but less than half the events feaure static A&S competitions.  As someone who cannot carry a tune in a bucket, I find this distressing.  Would someone please explain to me the reason for the discreptency?  Thank you.
