As the lady of a chivalric fighter, I would like to single out and thank Lady Elinor Salter and her team of waterbearers for their outstanding efforts during Steppes Warlord this weekend.  With a heat index on Saturday of about 105 degrees and oppresive humidity, catastrophe was averted with the constant parade of water, gatorade, orange slices, pickles and pretzels by youngsters, the gallant gentles who hauled buckets of cold cloths around the list fields, and spray hoses hung at the waterbearing tent for anyone to use.  Their extraordinary efforts surely kept the number of heat-related illnesses down to low and manageable levels.
Thank you for your most kind and appreciated service to the fighters and the spectators.
