Actually, if you are travelling east, the sun will always be to your right, (if you are in the northern hemisphere) though it will still travel from east to west during the day. Unless you are on the equator, in which case, the sun will be directly overhead, it will always be in the northern or southern sky, depending on the hemisphere you are in.
 
This gentle, was returning to the east from a visit in Ansteorran lands. The sun was always on his right, though it still rose in the east and set in the west.
