They weren't heraldry at ALL!  Indeed, one of the things required in the
design that it get the unification point desired by His Grace Mahdi across
_without_ being heraldry, as they represented regions, rather than any
actual place with the right to Arms.

The King's Battle Ensign, however, is good heraldry, passed heraldry, and
worth finding.
