[Ansteorra] Feeding toddlers at events

I am surprised that nobody mentioned Vienna sausages... :) They are awesome kid food at events, being a large part of what I ate as a kid, along with peanut butter and crackers, canned fruit, plus bananas and all other fruits that come with their skin on.

Also, there are several different kinds of soy milk that come in packages that do not require refrigeration available al Wal-Mart. Soy milk sounds icky but it is usually flavored with vanilla and is very sweet and tasty. It also has roughly the same amount of calcium and protein than cow's milk, so it's a very good alternative for an event with no cooler or where you don't trust a cooler.

Quite a few events will also have a tavern and, if not, it's a pretty-good bet than you can group with some other families for meals, making it easier on the whole. :)

Don't forget the baby carrots.  If he is teething he can chew on them forever.
Cherrios are always a safe bet too.

I generally went with finger-food like grapes, strawberries, string cheese,
raisins, peanut-butter crackers and so on, and then the occasional "actual"
sandwich made from a wheat roll and some thinly-sliced turkey, maybe a slice
of cheese as well.

If I didn't want to cart along a small cooler, I'd still bring grapes (can
NEVER have too many grapes...) and maybe a baggie of pre-sliced apples, and
then anything that doesn't require cooling to keep safe. Let 'em snack all
day long, and make sure they drink plenty of water, and they'll survive just
fine. :)
