It's almost time for Cracked Anvil XII. On May 30, for one day only, the
Shire of Smythkepe will bring you Seafarers of the Middle Ages. We are
planning avast array of activities for you to enjoy. Heavy Weapons
competitons (Ship to Ship Battle, Loot Deck Tourney and the Gleann Abhann
Tournament of Champions Qualifier). Rapier Battles include Burning Ship
Battle, Boarding the Ship/Bridge Battle, and Smythkepe Defender Tourney.

For those of more peaceful interests, we offer an extansive array of classes
including Spanish Travels, Games at Sea (sorry, no "Walk the Plank"),
Astrolabes, Cordials, What they Ate at Sea, Waiting for my Ship to Come In ,
and How to make Flemish Eyes and other knots.

There will also be a Youth Rapier Workshop (Youth 7-16) as well as an Adult
Rapier Class covering the history of the Queen's Blade.

Our MoC, Lady Aveline Frazier, has scheduled numerous activites to keep the
young ones occupied including Top Making, Boat Building, Pouch Making and
Beginning Embroidery.

**Please note** Our MoC needs 1 or 2 volunteers to assist her during the
day. You need not stay all day, but if you can help out in the morning or
afternoon she would be most appreciative and might even give you a cookie
(Chips Ahoy). Please contact moc (at) smythkepe.org if you can help.

No Smythkepe event would be complete without food.

memorable feast including Mushroom and Rice Soup, Crab Cakes, Roast Pork in
Bourbon with Citrus Fruit Fans, Seafood Salad, Bananas and Dates (I haven't
had a date in ages), Rum Cakes, Spice Cakes and so much more.
