You didn't say which books you've used, so here's a brief list of some I 
have:
_Embroidery Masterworks_   (from the textile collection of the Art 
Institute of Chicago) by Virginia Churchill Bath 
_The History of Textile Art_  by Agnes Geijer
_European Textiles in the Keir Collection 400BC to 1800AD_ by Monique 
King and Donald King
_Moda a Firenze 1540-1580_  by Roberta Orsi Landini- Bruna Niccoli
_Velluti e Moda tra XV e XVII secolo_ by Museo Poldi Pezzoli

These deal mostly with textiles and some fashion, but there are quite a 
few books I could list on fashion, an particular time period?
