That is a very large realm of research? What specific time periods/cultures are you confining 
your researches to? Are you looking at techniques and tools of textile production? Textile 
coloring? Textile finishing? Migration of textiles via merchants? Availability, use of and 
importance of different textile manufacturing methods and the impact on the fashion of the time 
due to the amount of cloth that was available?

Google is only one potential source and that only as good as your ability to phrase the search 
terms. If you are not finding hundreds of potential sources via google, you might be looking too 
specific and need to relax your search terms. What you seek might have only some of the keywords 
instead of all of them. Use worldcat to search for other books and make friends with your local 
library in order to get distant books via ILL (inter-library loan).

Let us know what your specific thrust is and we might have examples from our own personal 
libraries that could assist you.
