Thank you Master Caelin for the admiration of my wonderful shire!

Seawinds is truly a jewel in southern Ansteorra. I count myself extremely lucky to be apart of this shire for the last 12 years. Yet without the help from our brothers and sisters in the Loch this event would not have happened.

We are grateful to have the company of their Majesties, his Excellency Elfsea, their Excellencies of the Loch, Duke Kein, and many, many new and old friends of Seawinds. We had at least 10 Seawinders that have moved away or stopped playing were at this event. Seawinds has always been a shire of workers. No one doesn't have a job to do when its our event. I watched those people, who haven't played in years,?jump in and field marshal, set up hospitality tables, serve feast, stir pots, set up and down tents, clean bathrooms, and lots of other little tasks that go most of the time go unnoticed. Then there was friends like Master Caelin, HL John of Severn, their Excellencies of the Loch, Mistress Sara, Don Tristian, Don Robert, and several others that without asking filled a void when they saw a need. Oh I can not say thank you enough! This co-autocrat is extremely blessed!

The event was truely made by all because of the teachers. The teachers?like Duke Kein, His Majesty, Don Robert and Don Trisitan. I had several people come to me and say I never had the one on one teaching like I did today. They ran scenarios and gave suggestions to those they most of the time do not get this sort of teaching. In a small shire like mine, without a Knight or Don, they don't get this kind of one on one and are appreciative when given this opportunity. Thank you!

The history display was 18 panels of everything Seawinds! It was impressive! Thank you HLCaitriona! We need to take it on a road show!

We reflected a lot of where we came from and what we had become this event. We told stories, sang a few songs, and laughed at how young we all were. This was a historic event. To tell you honestly, I am very Proud to be a part of the Seawinds Family!

I agree the distance to a Seawinds event takes at least half a day (or more) to get here for most but when you get here we are going?to make it worth your time and expense. We are going to feed you very well. We are going to have fabulously stocked?bathrooms. We are going to give great site tokens. We are going to have some fighting scenarios in place. We are going to try to keep you coming back for more. The hospitality of my little shire knows no bounds.?Life is good in Seawinds!

So thank you Ansteorra! We are going to take at least 15 Seawinders to Gulf Wars again this year. ( It is a 13 hour drive to Gulf Wars.) With your help, I think we will be better trained and more in love with our King and our kingdom than ever!

Keeping the King's Coast for 25 years and counting!

In Service to the Dream,
HL Caley
co- autocrat Coastal Invasion/ Seawinds 25th

I attended Costal Invasion this weekend at HL Caley's invitation to
photograph the event. Though it was a long ride, it was well worth it. The
group was very welcoming to us, the Crown, Their Excellencies Loch Sollier,
His Excellency Elfsea, and all the others who came to help them celebrate
their 25th year. The weather was near perfect until late evening Saturday
(then it got a little cool for my cold adverse body). The activities were
fun and everyone was very concentrated on teaching and being taught instead
of just winning (or whining).

The heavies got the Tunnel of Tough Love (you had to be there), a variety of
field and bridge scenarios, and fighting in a ravine until they could no
longer lift a sword or spear. The rapier fighters practiced melee tactics in
field and bridge scenarios. The King fought, taught, and marshaled
chivalric. The Queen spent most of the afternoon honing her rapier melee
skills. I was impressed by the amount of friendly, but earnest training and
learning.

An historic display that exceeded in size and content any I have seen at
other events filled a large tent. You could recognize many of the Shire's
current members in younger bodies. Many previous members came back for the
event and some were heard to say they would becoming active members again.
The founding Seneschal stood in court and told all how impressed she was
with what they had become.

I was particularly impressed by the cooks and their products. They provided
breakfast, lunch, and feast on Saturday with a great breakfast on Sunday.
All were good, but the feast was amazing in both quality and quantity. His
Majesty, as a Laurel renowned for his cooking, gave them much earned praise.
The biggest dish was a suckling pig which was roasted in a pit all day. The
middle Eastern luncheon was excellent and just right for the day. The Shire
is well known for its hospitality and cooking and they proved it yet again.

Thanks for the wonderful event,

Caelin on Andrede
