Yes E bay is Ok. Anything you can find and buy is OK. Points are given on how strange is the place you find it. You get more points if you find it at the Goodwill store than if you buy it at historical repro. place. If you buy it on Ebay on a regular auction you get more points then going to the stores that specialize in SCA things. 
If you can prove something common is very period and it is not common knowledge in the SCA I will give points for that.
