Well, that depends on the fabric.  Some very heavy fabrics can pass
the punch test at 2 layers, but most take 3 or 4 layers.  Some won't
pass at four layers.   What I would recommend is washing & drying your
fabric and taking it to your local Rapier Marshal for drop-testing.
Then you'll know exactly how many layers your particular fabric takes.
