Greetings, Ansteorran archers and our supporters!
Please let me offer a apology for the lateness of this missive. Much has happened this week, and quite?a bunch?of it was unpleasant, and distracting. I'm sorry this is late.
I'm also at a loss as in 'Where do I start?"
I guess I could start with the people who helped transport the equipment out to the warlord site. The usual victim...uhhh volunteers, starting with Sir Morgan and includes an amazing number of people. Masters Fairbourne, and Caelen, Their Majesties, Sharkie,?and about 13-15 other people. Thanks. I could not have done it without you.
Or, I could start with the people who helped me do the initial range set-up. That would include my lovely wife, Lady Lyneya de Grey, and a lord from Duncan OK, who was known to me as 'just Micheal".?Thanks. I was already tired when I reached the site, and your help made short work of something that can get very tedious.
Thank you as always HL Jaque de Spink for all your efforts on so many different levels during Warlord. Thank you for sponsoring and running the novice tourney, and providing the prize. Thank you for running the children's shoot on Sunday morning. Thank you for running the 'William Tell' shoot, which also involved getting a new 'Screaming Willie' target. ( And, since I didn't bring any apples, Jaque went and got some apples!) Last, but certainly not least, thank you for sponsoring, organizing,?rounding up the marshals needed and providing the really awesome prize for the thrown weapons tourney!
Vinnie, thank you for the inspiring 'Screaming Willie ' target! We had alot of fun shooting at him, even though the apple won that round!
Katya! ?Thank you for all your assistance with inspections, sign-ups and all the other marshalling duties you so skillfully handled.?Thank you for the help in knocking down everything before the storm hit on Saturday night. You were also dealing with gate and exchequer duties as well, and I really appreciate your efforts.
Thank you also to your husband Micheal, for his generous donation of dozens of arrows for the loaner gear! The Barony and I both thank you.
Thank you Lord Daniel! Thank you for your assistance with sign-up, inspections and running the line when you were not competing. I very much appreciate your help.
Thank you Pyro! As Steppes Archer, this lady organized the?competition and ran the list for Steppes Archer. All this with no previous experience, and very little coaching. You made a really interesting shoot and you made it look simple. Thank you.
Congratulations to our newest Steppes Archer, Robin of Northkeep! Well Shot!
St. Sebastian! Where do I start? Thank you for being skilful and gracious competitors. Thank you for pitching in with inspections, and offering to marshal. Thank you for the beer after the tourney!? Thank you for all the help with tear-down. Congratulations? on RH, Edric! I know you will have fun with that!
Will, thank you for introducing us to some of the lesser known aspects of combat archery. Thank you for providing the target, and the loaner gear, so that some of us could get a taste of what combat archery is like. Thank you for your assistance with inspections etc, and all the support you've given me since I've had this office.
I know I'm forgetting people who deserve credit, and to those people, I say THANK-YOU!
