Greetings to the Honorable and noble Tostig Logiosophia and the fair Gentles of Rosenfield
>From Duchess Willow de Wisp
Thank you for your kind words. I would like to past them along to all the wonderful artist and people who have helped make and maintain this set of Wall Hangings.
On your wall were pieces that go back to the first Wall hanging project done by the "Clan Caldal Twistie Beast Company" to create 12 Norse wall hangings for Count Sutan and Countess Regina's Coronation. and there were pieces that were done by other groups for Duke Inman's many coronations and Duke Master Michael coronation and some Steppes 12Th Night and the Rose Tournaments and the single place to inspire the making of Wall hangings Elfsea's Culture camps.
The people of Emerald keep worked on the large Black Roses and the Rose strips. Over the years as many as 40 people have worked to create these pieces of Art. Honorable Lord Roger Red hand and my Dear Mother Elizabeth of BranbleBush Being the real energy and spirit behind the Projects. And none of them would have been possible without the teaching and guidance of the Master Painter Mistress Branwyn. She bought the first of the painted Wall hangings to Ansteorra. I have it and I will put it in the History display at 30Th.
These Wall hanging only exist because the care they have been given by the "prop" masters. The leaders of this group are Lord Jonathan the Younger and Lord Richard Red Dog and His Grace Jonathan de Laufyson. I would like to thank the many Autocrats that have kept them safe.
I would like to thank all the people who donated money to the creation of these Wall hanging. Everyone of those wall hangings that you see now up were paid for by private donations. The people who gave me donations for my flowers or "magic" brooms told me that they supported the Wall hangings because they made Ansteorra special I promised the people of Ansteorra and the Artisans of Ansteorra who worked so hard on the wall hangings the they would always be used to make Ansteorra a special place. I hope they feel I have lived up to my promise.
I thank you for your thank you but I am just a very long thread in the tapestry of effort that makes the wall hangings possible. I want to thank all of them for making the Beauty of these pieces of Art live on.
Duchess Willow de Wisp
The humble keeper of one of longest lasting Art Project in the SCA.

I have uploaded the pictures from Coronation. I had some problems with my
lens, so I missed some great shots and a few I got were not right. But the
rest are here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rthrelkeld/sets/ with all the normal caveats.
You may use them as you will for non-profit, SCA use as long as you credit
either Caelin on Andrede or Richard Threlkeld. I have higher resolution, RAW
format versions if you wish to modify them.
In service,
Caelin on Andrede

What you appear to be suggesting is that you are going to allow people
who are not combat archery authorized shoot at one another. This would
violate Society Law.
While I was Society CA Marshal I had to constantly remind people of this.
1. If you are shooting at people is it Combat. Just because there are
only two combat archers does make it something other than combat.
2. The absolute first rule in the SCA marshals handbook says:
/I. COMBAT AUTHORIZATION REQUIREMENTS/
/A. General/
/1. All persons who wish to participate in SCA combat activities
must authorize under the Society and Kingdom-of-residence
authorization procedures. SCA combat activities are defined as
armored combat, period fencing, combat archery, siege, and marshaling./
The rule is clear. Combat Archery is listed separately from armored or
rapier combat as a distinct type of _combat_ participation and it
requires authorization.
3. The Rules of the List that we are all supposed to know and that are
part of Corpora and repeated in the Marshals Handbook says in Rules of
the List #2
/2. No person shall participate in Official Combat-Related
Activities (including armored combat, period fencing, and combat
archery) outside of formal training sessions unless they have been
properly authorized under Society and Kingdom procedures./
4. If this is a tournament where people are competing, then this is NOT
a formal training session. It is Combatants in a Tournament.
5. Bottom line is that if people are going to shoot at one another then
those participants must be authorized for combat. No exception.
Otherwise you violate corpora.
_*Now*_ at Squires, Cadets, and Arcarius event last spring we held a CA
tournament.
( rules we used found here
http://www.companystsebastian.net/files/boxtourney.htm )
Before we had our CA tournament I called the Society SCA Marshal and he
confirmed for the that of course to participate is such a tournament you
had to be authorized but he also granted the same provision that I had
granted as DSEM CA and allowed that since there would ONLY be CA and no
other combat taking place, as long as all participants were properly
authorized, and properly armed and armored, that folks could
participate equipped for either the Armored Combat field or the Rapier
Combat field as long as all of the bows and ammo where legal on both
the armored and rapier fields (ie.you cant shoot a baldar blunt at
someone in rapier armor, you cant shoot at someone in rapier armor with
a 1000 IP bow, etc.)
Of course if what you intend IKCAC style archery then never mind. That
is target archery and not combat so no authorization is required.
Regards,
-EA
