On the fabric front, any suggestions for good sources of wools these days.

Glicks is a wholesaler.  While anyone can purchase from them, their prices
are going to be lower because they are't retail.  Some of their products are
only available by the bolt, usually the fairly generic stuff like twill and
canvas.  If you need a large amount of something, they're great, but the
selection is limited.
