Can you let someone else perform it?  With proper credit of course...at feast or court and not at the competition?

(who is very very sad you will not be here)

Subject: [Ansteorra] Our Seventies Things

Well, it's definite -- I won't be able to make BG XXX.  So here is the song I can't enter in the bardic competition.  (It is easily documentable to the period, being a filk to the tune of "Our Seneschal's Fault".)

Thin unlined dresses and fur-lined bikinis,
Feasts where the main course is just beans and wienies,
Soup made from whatever anyone brings,
These were a few of our seventies things.

Laurels in dresses of fine polyester,
Sci-fi personas from Heinlein and Bester,
"Old Time Religion" that everyone sings,
These were a few of our seventies things.

Surrounding our listfields with tarps made of plastic,
Think "creative" means mod and fantastic,
Foils whose quillons are tied on with strings,
These were a few of our seventies things.

When the feast's bad, when there's bad kings,
When the court's too long,
I simply remember our seventies things,
And wonder when all went wrong.

Lords chasing Tessa like so many ducklings,
Big heavy fighters who sneered at swashbuckling,
Ren Fair and all of the money it brings,
These were a few of our seventies things.

Clench-a-wench contests and skylarking Bevin
One single court making Laurels of seven,
Going a year without seeing the king,
These were a few of our seventies things.

Half of us never had seen a Corpora,
Heralds submitting the name "Ansteorra",
Naming conventions from "Lord of the Rings".
These were a few of our seventies things.

When the feast's bad, when there's bad kings,
When the court's too long,
I simply remember our seventies things,
And wonder when all went wrong.
