It is with a sad heart to inform you that Lady Lorraine is back in the hospital again. This time with brain cancer. She is without Internet at this time, so she won't be able to recieve any emails. She is at MDACC for tonight. Here's the phone number: 713-792-7000 room 921. I didn't ask her if she wanted any phone calls, but there it is anyway. She will be there tonight and is going home in the morning. She will go back next week for surgery. There is a golfball sized tumor in the right side with swelling around it. 

Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Greetings Equestrians!

I have an urgent and immediate need for your help!

In an ongoing attempt to make our travels to Gulf Wars more affordable, I have requested some considerations from the GW XIX Autocrats and the Budget Committee. One of these considerations is for Gulf Wars to rent the entire barn area as part of the War, with donations for stalls and fundraisers to repay most of that cost. Those donations and fundraisers can come from a variety of sources, and will be collected at War.

But the Budget Committee is hesitant to go with this plan as they don't believe there is enough interest in the equestrian community for this to work.

If donating what you can for a stall would encourage you to take a horse to War, write them and let them know you support the barn rental!

If you were thinking about going and donating what you can would firm up that plan, let them know you support the barn rental!

If you were debating taking extra horses and this helps, let them know you support the barn rental!

I know we can't really guarantee that we can bring a horse; transmissions go out, someone gets sick, and so on; but we can make plans, and inform them of those plans. 

Also, if we can make a good showing for GW XIX, the same considerations will be offered for GW XX!! (And perhaps for many years after! I would love for us to set a precedence!)

I believe with all my heart that the barn/stable area should be considered as part of the War site rental. We do a lot for the Populace with our horses; we offer them for classes, for Mounted Watch, for entertainment. We allow others to ride them, game on them, and so on. We use them as the center for hands on teaching, and for arts and education for the Populace. We use them for the Grand Procession. And sometimes, we even get to ride them ourselves.

As soon as possible, let the budget committee know there is indeed an interest! If you live in one of the 4 principle kingdoms, please contact your Kingdom Exchequer and let them know your thoughts! If you don't live in a Principle kingdom, please feel free to contact the one closest to you, (or all of them,) and let them know of your desire to bring horses to War, and how this decision will affect you. 

Even if you don't own a horse, contact them and let them know how much you enjoy the horses, how much they and their owners contribute, and how they add to the ambiance!
