I agree that event steward is a far better title for the postion, but, for the sake of authenticity and my own delusions of grandeur, I chose to use the autocrat term.  Were I truly an autocrat, I could impose an edict that would prevent anyone from hijacking a thread so that my attempts to make sure that someone got their keys back would not require me to read a dozen posts on eitymology.
