I have always liked the simplicity and elegance of the current crowns. They
are quite unique when compared to the crowns of the other kingdoms. I would
hope any new crowns would continue those traditions.

Those still look better than some period crowns. Chuckie Saxonslaughterer's
(Charlemagne) looks like it was hit by a Bedazzler during Mardi Gras or a
crude, edible ginger bread hat. :D
I must say for an observer's standpoint that though inded needing replacing,
the current crowns are quite elegant without being gawdy.

Those crowns are being stored by the Kingdom Historian. They actually
aren't in great shape at all; the inner lining is gone, the stone black
stars are missing and more. Not to mention they are oversized (for most
people) and unwieldy (for everyone; they are several un-joined pieces) to
wear.
