[Ansteorra] need a statement describing honor

My father, who after several decades of reflection I have come to realize was an exceedingly wise man, taught me that:

Honor is always doing right, even when no one is looking.

Honor being a uniquely human concept, perhaps a stylized portrayal of a knight would be a better representation than an animal.

Subject: [Ansteorra] need a statement describing honor

I am doing a set of wall hangings on the Knightly virtues and I need a one liner that describes "honor" in Ansteorra.  It is a very confusing term and I am going crazy trying to think of something. Also if you were to ascribe an animal to the concept what would you use?
