This is how old-timers can get newcomers in trouble, without intending more
than a quick joke.

DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE.  A blue feather is often used to indicate an
interest in seeking a same-sex encounter.  All of us who've been around
awhile knew this and laughed, but the newcomers here might have believed
him.
