[Ansteorra] Laurel's Prize update

Greetings Everyone,

Today I remember the old saying: “Everything takes longer than you think it will.” 
To illustrate this point, Laurel’s Prize is months gone, yet I am just announcing the winners of my “Laurel’s Prize” for Best Documentation & Best Research Paper. 

Of the papers submitted the honors go to:
Best Documentation – HL Czina Angielczyka – “How to make a Medieval English Scabbard
Using Period Techniques and Tools” 
	This paper is an illustrated walk though of making a leather scabbard using period tools, with a discussion of period tools, methods & materials. 

Best Research Paper – HL Magge MacPherson – “Performance of Medieval and Renaissance Vocal Music: A Study of the Treatises”
	This paper cited multiple period treatises to illustrate how music was sung in period and how the styles changed based on the century and the county.  

Both ladies wrote about topics I had very little knowledge of beforehand: Leather work and Vocal Music history.  Yet due to their clear writing styles, good use of citations, and use of period items or examples they were able to educate the reader well.

Again I thank all the other people who submitted papers; you all honor this Kingdom and make me humble. The scope of research topics in the Kingdom is impressive: from women mystics to pigments and from blankets to silver smelting and cooking.
