My story start fairly recently, although to be fair my first encounter
happened in the early or mid-eighties.  I was about 15 and enthralled with
knights, swords, damsels, hacking and killing.. the usually 15 year old
stuff.  My dad brought home a paper and showed me an article about a little
medieval fair happening in Norman of all places.  He wouldnt take me, =(
end of that story.

A few years ago I was recovering from a divorce and somehow stumbled across
the SCA website, then Namrons.  I learned about their meetings and started
attending.  No one noticed me.  I have always been sort of a chameleon.  In
time, they noticed and I developed some really good friendships,  I've
always been, and to this day am, intimidated by the little metal hats some
of the folks wear.  I've met a really loving giant, that showed me the good
in the people of the SCA, and i've been able to travel really far south and
really far north with terrific friends.

I am a self described hobby-o-holic and learned so many fun skills.
Currently engrossed in rapier and brewing.  Oh, and I too am just a little
disappointed that we dont  "role play" too much.. but oh well.

I've married and my wife and I have come to love our friends, our barony,
and the atmosphere of this "game"
