It doesn't matter what the blood type is because the unit you donate will probably be used in your area and another unit will be allocated for him from the blood that has been processed in the Ft Worth area.

Try the American Red Cross, who pretty much oversees blood banks
nationwide.  See if they will help you set up a set of drives.

The blood limit, cold as it sounds, is because there is not enough blood for
everyone, so they limit what any one person can consume.  Triage, if you
will.
