[Ansteorra] Turbin

I have been interested in adding a Turbin to my Middle Eastern garb
set for a while ... I have finally found some Linen I could afford but
it seems to twist heavy.  Should the fabric be thinned by half from
the original weaving?  Would the in-period looms be only 24 to 36
inches wide in making this type of fabric/gause?

Any other helps would be appreciated as well.
