"Featuring objects that span the 9th century to the present, Light of the Sufis includes furnishings used for mosque lighting; attributes and representations of Sufi mystics; illustrated, illuminated, and laser-etched manuscripts of Sufi poetry; and contemporary works inspired by Sufi principles and practices. "  The exhibit was originated from a Boston museum.

Ticket prices for general admission is $7.00
(Sufi' exhibit is included in general admission,  no special fee).

Weekend hours:
Friday, Saturday 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
Sunday 12:15 p.m.–7:00 p.m.

There are about 30 manuscript pages from various time periods, most all are in SCA period.  Images include a few carpet pages, several nice pages with just script and several pages with colorful settings of court folk about their business.  A few scribal tools are also shown, but they are post-period, including two pen boxes, a penknife, an agate burnisher and a pen cutting/trimming base.  It's not a huge exhibit, only two rooms, but a nice representation of images that you can view up close. Bring a magnify glass.  Photo's not allowed.  There is am exhibit book for $25.

Cheers, Hillary
