Unto the fair and noble populace of the sovereign Kingdom of Ansteorra,

The winds of change have, alas, caught up my sails once more and I must
needs follow the capricious zephyr whence it will.  This voyage will
ultimately lead Seraphina and I to the Barony of Stierbach in Atlantia.
While we do hope and expect to return to Ansteorra one day, it will
likely not be until I retire from public service in 10 to 13 years time.

There are no words to express what I feel for Ansteorra and her people.
These lands were my birthplace and cradle, and have served as home for
50 of my 52 years.  I have been a proud citizen of Ansteorra itself
(Shadowlands, Stargate, Bryn Gwlad, and Bjornsborg) for 28 summers all
told, as well. While I may reside in a distant kingdom and serve a
foreign Crown as my feudal duty dictates, the heart of a Lion cannot be
subverted.  That part of me will forever belong to the Sable Star.

It is with deep regret that I must take Mistress Seraphina away from
you.  There is some comfort for me in the knowledge that Ansteorrans are
amongst the hardiest of all peoples and their stomachs will survive even
this cruel blow.

Let me hasten to reassure everyone that this will in no way impact
Seraphina's service as the Ansteorran Pennsic land agent. Actually, that
service will be easier this year, because we'll only be 5 hours away,
instead of 26.

May the lesser lights of the firmament shine on the Black Star forever
in wealth and weal, and may our paths cross again in joyous celebration.
