[Ansteorra] Why aren't we doing this?

I've been told that 1599 is the cutoff, but I could be wrong. The term 'pre-17th century' comes from SCA laws, which specify that an attempt at such is required to participate at events, unless you have permission otherwise from the autocrat.

Not sure, but from SCA.org comes the following:
