Actually, the original charter did.
<http://history.westkingdom.org/AHP/Articles.htm> are the original SCA
Inc. Articles of Incorporation, the oldest formal document under under
<http://history.westkingdom.org/>. (The Bylaws and Corpora are
slightly later.)  They twice use the phrase "pre-17th Century Western
Culture" (which is pre-1601) and twice "said era".
