That is because you want at least 5.5 ounce linen. Some of the other medium
weight linens also meet this requirement. This is the best place and price
on the internet to be sure you are getting what you want.

I always use 3 layers because that always passes. Often two layers will
pass. If you back that up with a shirt you are probably fine. I make my
jacket with sleeves 3 layers so I I can wear it over a t-shirt at practice.

Most Authorizing Rapier marshals will have the equipment necessary to punch
test your fabric.
