So who forgot to lock the oubliette?

I do not believe that someone forgot to lock anything. I do believe that Hanse 
has help out there. 

As for reward conitions.
1.) We want him alive so that he may witness the elevation of our new Baron and 
Baroness.
2.) Any information, upon proving it accurate and authentic, will be rewarded. 
See Baronial Guard Captain for details.
3.) When he has been safely given into our hands, and checked for any rough 
treatment, a reward will be discussed in private to those who bring forth such 
claim.
