[Ansteorra] Crown entrants -- why is it a secret?

Actually, the reason is more prosaic than even that.

Ansteorra almost universally does not require a letter of intent.  Our reign
was one of the first in many years that a letter of intent was required.

If you don't require a letter, you can't generate a list since you don't
know who might show up at Crown.

If you don't have a list, you can't release it.
