[Ansteorra] Hello from Oertha and the kingdom of the west

Your Highness,
You may find folks more willing to yield a fight to you if you leg them here.
Legs are harder to take with the larger shields people tend to use though, so
much so that leg armour above the knee is frequently omitted here. You'll find
folks won't walk around your sides, but they don't have to since you can't move
on your knees. If there's some perception of getting too close to an opponent
here I haven't seen it. I don't mean that to sound judgmental, it's just
different. The fights end up looking a lot like this:

Note that the shield to body contact conventions practiced in Ansteorra are
unlike what's done in The Mists and Cynagua, and I'm guessing Oertha, as that
fight illustrates.
It's less common for anyone to accommodate you on a lost arm here than it is
in the West, and do expect your arms to be targeted.
Gaston de Clermont

Thank you now I under stand the advantage of legging someone in the west if we
take a arm we normally yield our shield do you yield your legs if you leg a
opponent ? Or is it a point of chivalry to yield you legs for us in the west if
we legg our opponent we don't yield our legs because We have the 90 rule (can't
step past 90 of their knees ) so for a legged opponent itakes the a harder
target. How ever if we arm our opponent we normally drop our shield as the
advantage is great. I am asking because I want to respect your customs and
curiosity's.
