Gruit-style honey ale?  May I trouble you for a recipe?  I just started a
14th century unhopped gruit ale and am very interested in beer styles
before hops supplanted everything else.

PS: Yes, I know the whole "beer had hops, ale didn't" differentiation, but
such a distinction existed for only a very short span of the history of
beer, and overlapped SCA period only at the end.  Now I refer to it all by
the generic term "beer" and to the specific beverage by whatever name the
recipe's author chooses.
