I, too, find the drums hypnotic, and I'm glad to see the ME dance
folks having a good time and putting on a good show.  At the same
time, I'm a little selfish: I also want the sounds and smells and
colors of pre-1600 Europe to spice up our events and make them feel
more medieval, since that's the particular vibe *I* enjoy most.  There
certainly can be both.
