Honestly I am not really sure what the dues go to other than allowing you to be a marshal or an officer. I thought it was for liability insurance but then thought the waver we sign took the SCA off the hook if we got hurt playing. If it does cover liability it would make sense that those who participated in the more dangerous aspects would pay more to play. Obviously things like heavy fighting, rapier, or archery would be more likely to have accidents. I pay my dues but have no clue what they go to. I could do without the newsletter since everything can be found online. If someone knows please let the rest of us know what the dues go to.

greetings

i have to agree with most of your post.
but you forgot to add things like the kingdom newsletter which anyone will now be able to read online which will be much cheaper to produce and put out, but the rates to place your event ad's  will remain the same, or even go up soon.
and even though it probably isnt true, it gives more  impression that both society and kingdoms are just after your money and your labor, but don't wish to offer anything in return.unless your willing to pay extra for it .

lots of changes in 30 years :/

Be Safe , Be Happy, Have Fun .
