greetings

with all the talk about liability , and lawsuits, it brings to mind the
trucking companies , who try to settle most claims before they actually go
to court, even when clearly not at fault, simply because it will be cheaper
than the legal fees to fight it .
costing them lots of money in the long run, but cheaper on a case by case
basis.
the bigger the target the more people will try to claim a portion of that
pie.

as a continental non profit corporation with world wide off shoots,
outsiders can see the sca as a very large target with very large pockets.
to insiders with bad memories / hurt feelings, etc.many will see not the
companion ship of friends, the large dysfunctional family the society tends
to be,or the teaching of honor, chivalry, etc.
but instead will see only the money that goes into the society in return for
a piece of paper that if forgotten at home, is worthless and still costs you
more money if you attend an event, the money that goes into kingdom / sca
pockets for events, feasts, fund raisers , etc.. so to those people again
the sca.inc looks like a ripe target for the picking , since all they see is
lots of money going into those pockets, and nothing coming out.
you also have to remember that to some people , growing a bigger corporation
and thus a bigger target is not seen as an improvement, but a liability .
it is often the modern worlds view that everyone should sue someone , its
the modern way to get rich , when working for a living in many cases still
leaves people with a poverty level income , or less : (

just a few points that I haven't seen discussed in this matter.
Be Safe , Be Happy, Have Fun .
