As you have the freedom to read the thread or post. Others also have the right to express our opinions. Ya'll enjoy beating the poor kitten. I'm out.
Have you commented to the others who asked this discussion to stop?

So what about people like me who were reading the thread and interested in what was being said, but who weren't actively participating?  Do we just not have the right to observe the conversation because you are unhappy?

I never asked anyone to stop the conversation. But maybe you can make it private. I love being part of this group, but when the discussions turn ugly or just keep saying the same things over and over. Like a broken record,it's not worth it. I appreciate a good discussion, but Attacking each other will not solve anything.

One comment about "taking it private..."  To do so assumes that everyone
who IS following a particular thread is also
commenting/participating---  and you know what happens when you assume...

Unless the thread becomes uncivil, I would agree it is kind of rude to
tell other people to "shut up, cause I'm tired of hearing about
this...."  we pride ourselves on the willingness to let speech remain free.

Any mail-reader worth using allows you to select the latest post with a
repeating subject line, click the sort by subject header, shift click
select and then delete. --mail box cleared....

Those who take the list in digest get long posts--  but people who take
digest only scan usually anyway...  If they read it at all....

I will support the crown, as long as they serve the kingdom. But I don't believe this conversation is helping anyone. The SCA is composed of folks from different cultures, religions and beliefs. We will never all agree on topics, but should respect each others decisions. We are family.
