In the immortal words of Katherine Hepburn, "Mother's tired.
Come stick pins tomorrow morning; I'll be more responsive."

Besides, it's been done. Palatine Baronies were invented to give a
taste of crown tourneys or coronet tourneys to people who were really
unlikely to be able to ever afford to go to them. I don't know
whether Western Seas (Hawaii) and Allyshia (northern California) still
keep the honorifics or still have the tourneys.

The one I know of is the Palatine Barony of the Far West, which is the
Pacific Rim: Thailand, South Korea, Guam, Japan. They have a coronet
tourney every six months for each new baron and baroness. I believe
they used to have alternating heavy and A&S tourneys; I'm pretty sure
they had at least 2 A&S coronets. http://www.westkingdom.org/node/515
says that they had the SCA's first rapier coronet tourney in April.
