It is a great idea. I know that my current membership number is my second
cause of a snafu that I am willing to bet only I remember (not saying I am
in the 30 year category) but I am certain that I am not the only one that
got reissued a new number in all this time making it look like there was a
disruption in the continuous time frame. :)

So, I have a proposition: I propose we petition the BoD to allow anyone who
has been a continuous member for at least 30 years to pay a set one-time fee
(to be determined by them) for lifetime membership. I mean, after 30 years
it's pretty obvious we are lifers. This isn't an unusual practice among
professional organizations.

What do you think?
