STEPPES ARTISAN XXV

Who will be the Argent Artisan?

Master Duncan Hepburn and Mistress Genevieve de Courtanvaux,  
Baron and Baroness of the Steppes,
invite the artisans of Ansteorra to compete for the honor of being their
25th Champion of Arts and Sciences
on 28 July 2012.

Steppes Artisan is a body of work competition. Specialists as well as generalists are invited to enter. The focus is on the progression of the Artisan and their inspiration(s). Pre-registration is required. Tuesday, 24 July 2012 is the last day for Artisans to register. For more information, please see the website: http://steppes.ansteorra.org/artisan 

Site address: Cathedral of Light, 2040 North Denton Drive, Carrollton, TX 75006.                     

Directions: Take your best route to I-35E ~ Take Exit 444 (Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road) ~ Go East on Whitlock Lane for 0.7 miles to Denton Drive ~ Go North (left) on Denton Drive for 0.1 miles. The site will be on the right.

Site opens for display set up at 8 am, with general admission opening at 9 am. Event closes at 7 pm, with site closing at 8 pm. (This time is firm. You must be off site by 8 pm.)

Site fee: $12/adult, $5/children 7-17, $0/children 6 and under, $30/family max, $5/ non-member surcharge. Make checks payable to SCA Inc. / Barony of the Steppes. 

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21 year or older adult with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from the parents.

Please note: While brewers may enter the competition, the site is dry. Service animals only.

The site includes a lovely park with a play area for children. A larger play area for Chivalric and Rapier combat will also be set up for anyone wishing to practice those arts and sciences.

A 'potluck' picnic will be available, with the barony providing protein and bread. Please see the website for details.

FYI, the website will take a few days to get completely updated with the schedule, I just wanted to get this information out to everyone who is interested as soon as possible!
