[Ansteorra] Regarding Fund Raising

I have to agree with Armand here. The litmus test for inurement ends when SCA funds are not 
involved. As the ansteorra.org server is indeed paid for by the kingdom, the question could be 
raised that it involves sca funds and would therefore be subject to inurement rules, however, 
this mailing list (and the others that are hosted on ansteorra.org) are not setup for the 
private benefit of any individual. It's for the benefit of all Ansteorrans and the other lists 
are benefiting other groups of recipients. Therefore, in my educated opinion, there is no 
inurement involving SCA funds at play here.

The place where people in the SCA get into trouble is if they lend the SCA name to a fundraising 
effort. I've not seen that happen anywhere lately, though I've seen it in the past.

My understanding is the SCA, or a branch, can indeed hold a fundraiser to benefit any other IRS 
recognized 501(C) non-profit charitable organization and run those funds through their branch 
account.

A member (or members) of a branch, can hold a fundraiser to benefit an individual or family as 
long as there is no implication that the contributions to the fundraiser in either cash or 
material are in any way being made to the SCA, Inc and as long as all funds so collected never 
touch an SCA, Inc controlled account.
