Depending on how smart your phone is, it probably has an alarm clock 
function that will let you set as many alarms as you'd like, each with 
its own, distinct alarm sound (ringtone).  You could create either eight 
or twelve (or more) bell tones and then set up hourly alarms.  Or 
half-hourly if you prefer the nautical bells, though I'm not sure if 
that particular pattern is period.

This would have the advantage of not just making a generic bell sound, 
but actually telling you the time.
