[Ansteorra] Latin Help..

Mottoes, and well as many other such phrases, do not work well with word by word translation.

I would check these two files in the HERALDRY section of the Florilegium:
mottoes1-msg (113K) 10/25/00 Latin mottoes for SCA use.

Many of these are from Mistress Gunnora (also known as the Viking Answer Lady) and what makes her explanations nice is that she explains why many direct translations would not work in these examples. I don't think this particular phrase is in there, but maybe worth checking. If it isn't, she is happy to translate phrases for you.
