Michelle rocks!  Always got a smile. : )

Vigdis also rocks and is a great motivator for us old folks. Weird, me being an 'old folk' now, but like MS Michelle I have been playing SCA for 27 years now.  That's a long time considering I was 17 for my first event. Wow.  I cannot tell you how much this group of medieval misfits means to me.  Good times and bad. I have learned so much and have way too many thingsto doand still more to learn to stop now. The magic is still around if you just look for it.  For me it's the company I keep and for me that is Ansteorra and its people.  All of them.

~~~The original subject line made me sad..............so I changed it :0)~~~
Agreed Vigdis!
I've been playing SCA for 23 years now, and while I can say it has changed a great deal from when I first started playing, in my opinion, most of those changes have been for the better (just as history is ever evolving through new discoveries, so is the SCA).
I still love to put on garb (and oh how my garb has changed over the years), hang out with my friends (my chosen family), make new friends (a source of great joy), do service (to facilitate magical moments and fun for others), and learn new things about history and the arts and sciences (knowledge adds to my life).
I hope to be playing this game for a long time to come :o)
