[Ansteorra] What to do at Outlands Battlemoor? Revels!!

I remember that first year....but oh the fun I had. Even the experience of the windy nights is looked back upon through a fond lens...think of the ways a bard can tell those stories!
It wasn't as bad as the storm and derecho winds at Triumphe a couple years ago. :) My daughter wrote a narrative about how Odin visited court that night. ;)
I can't wait to get the opportunity to return (scheduling in the fall is a bit trickier for me than July 4).

You are most certainly correct.
During BattlemoorI, we had awful winds during the night...so much so that it spawned the FaceBook page 'Winds did blow, tents did soar, but I'll be back again to BATTLEMOOR!'

The winds of the first year helped guide the design of the t-shirt for BattlemoorII, which incidentally was much calmer though still a little windy.
The heat and wind of the first two years, which were held on July 4th
weekend, prompted the move to Labor Day weekend. Last year was beautiful, less
heat and no tent eating wind :-)
Though I won't attempt to guarantee weather for the event, I'm very much
hoping you'll give Battlemoor another chance! We would love the chance to
welcome many, many of our Ansteorran cousins to Battlemoor IV.

Having gone to the first Battlemoor event and knowing that my sister in law
lives out that way, I offer up the advice to those who are going to be
prepared for wind that makes our here in OK look like a spring breeze. When
we arrived at oh God early in the morning we found the entire site looking
like a bomb had dropped. Stuff was strewn everywhere, people were wandering
out looking shell shocked looking for their stuff that was blown half way
across the camp. It was deceptively calm during the day, but as soon as the
night fell, all hell broke loose. After a few hours of enduring the wind we
ended up in a hotel.
