Greetings,
At War of the Rams II last weekend, two Arts & Sciences contests were hosted.
Please pay attend to the wordfame for these fine artisans:

A&S Populace Vote:
Deirdre ni Raghailligh of Namron, Ansteorra, won with a lovely Alabaster Knight reminiscent of the Isle of Lewis; she ran away with populace vote with a very early lead.

A&S Bordermarch Artisan Championship:
Katerine le Roux d'Anjou of Emerald Keep, Ansteorra, won a judged competition with a period recipe created Gesso buttons for use in Manuscript Illumination, with supporting elements including a gold leaf illumination page.  (Katerine was formerly known as Katarzyna Nikolaieva).

Honorable Mention:
Jane Beaumont, of Gleann Abhann, was runner up to both arts contests with a high score in each, for delicate Blackwork Elizabethan Coif (in red thread).

While the weather caused concerns over whether any artisans would enter, I was very pleased to see 17 varied entries from fiber arts, metalsmithing, leather, garb, scribal, glass and liquors - enough to please the populace from both kingdoms.   Many thanks to those who voted in the populace choice, and many thanks to those judges of the Baronial Championship.  We could not have been able to declare overall winners without your volunteering your time to judge and sharing of knowledge to the artisans.

Thanks to those who assisted with the morning logistics changes with table arranging for the arts contests.
And a very special thanks to those volunteers of Bordermarch for erecting the side pavilions later in the day, where many meetings were held.   You are appreciated!!

For Bordermarch and the War of the Rams, Vivat!!
Cheers, Hillary Greenslade
(retired Bordermarch Artisan)
