I am horribly remiss in getting this out, but I've been a bit under the weather this week.

As many of you who have stewarded an event know, no event happens without the work of many people.  Despite issues with the weather (especially on Sunday) Elfsea Defender XXV was one of the Barony's most well attended events in quite some time.  We are blessed with an excellent site and I believe those who attended had a good time.

To Their Excellencies, Gerhart and Elspeth, I thank you for trusting me to complete the planning process and run the event when it became apparent that you two had a different path at Defender.  You both very graciously handled the little bumps along the way.  I look forward to working with both of you in your new roles in the Barony.

To Countess Amelot, my co-steward, thank you for covering my back, taking care of the Royal family, tackling load out when I couldn't, and making sure we were where we needed to be.

To Diana the Just and Aaliz du Lac, thank you for handling the little things and making sure I had tea, which I greatly needed after I lost my voice.

To Aine Inghean Aoha, William Palfrey, Druinne de Saleberie, Vittorio Dona, Caitrina inghean Mhurchadha, Germanicus de Atlan, Elisabethe de Salesberie, Don Sebastian and al Aeryn for coordinating functions of the event so that everything ran like cogs in a clockwork.  All of you went above and beyond in doing what needed to be done to make the event happen.

To the Canton of Dragonsfire Tor, the Shire of Loch Ruadh and the Household of Falcon's Aerie, thank you so very much for being there to assist with load out, set up, emergency on-site repairs, tear down, and load in.  We honestly could not have pulled this off without all of you.

To Baron Arthur, House Stonefalcon, and Charles Netterville, thank you for feeding people on site.  Although we were not a large distance from town, the road into it was quite the trek, and it made things so much easier when warm, good food was available on-site.

To those members of the Barony who worked tirelessly on Baronial work days to prepare all of the new banners, banner poles, pavilion poles, and the like, you have my thanks.  You give me hope that the Barony will continue to flourish and grow.

And, finally, to my eternally patient husband, Duke Gunthar, there is never enough thanks for what you have to put up with when I volunteer for something.  You fed people on-site for set up, hauled me into town for supplies, cleaned bathrooms, put up pavilions, figured out what to do with leftovers, and whatever else popped up that needed handling.  I know you love me because you haven't killed me yet.

I'm sure I've forgotten someone, but it is unintentional - I blame it on the medication.  Thank you everyone for making Elfsea Defender a wonderful event.

Yours in Service,

Countess Elizabeth Seale
Event Steward
