oooh. Tomas is moving up in the world :-) Last time I was able to go to Gulf Wars, he was still in canvas merchant pavilion.

He usually carries a broad range of circlets. If you've been thinking of getting one of those to hold on your veil, even if you aren't a Lord or Lady yet (some kingdoms require you have at least an Award of Arms to wear a circlet. I don't think Ansteorra does), you might want to take a look at his.

You often don't know if you will find yourself moving to another kingdom. If you think you might be, consider their sumptuary laws as well. Even if you can wear something in a new kingdom because you earned it in the old, you might not wish to deal with the frowns if you do.

As well, just because you can legally wear something hideously gaudy and ugly, even if period, it doesn't mean you should. :-)

Can save you issues and expense, if your design needs minor adjustments to meet standards. Over the years, I've seen folks spend funds on 'brass hats' that later had to be changed because they were incorrectly designed, breaking sumptuary laws or maybe containing elements the owner wasn't entitled to but honestly wasn't aware of. So take 10 minutes and run the design by your kingdom Herald.
