HerExcellency is pleased to host Eisteddfod, the Kingdom Bardic Championship,

at Steppes 12th Night2015.


 
Site:Corral Barn, 3312 North Central Expressway, Plano, Texas 75074.


 
Thesite will have alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and bottled water available forsale. We are not allowed to bring inany alcoholic beverages, nor commercially sold soft drinks or bottled water.Fruit juices or hand-crafted non-alcoholic beverages are permitted.


 
Directions:Take best route to Plano and take US 75. Take Parker Road exit. If coming southon 

75,take the overpass and turn north onto the frontage road (do not continue onParker). Take the 

thirdentrance on the right (in front of the Hangout Patio Bar & Grill). If youpass Joe’s Crab 

Shackyou’ve gone too far.

PleaseNote:

Youare allowed to bring in your own food, and you will need to bring your feastgear. Alcohol and commercial beverages of any kind, e.g., soda, energydrinks, beer, homebrew, MUST bepurchased on site, from the cash bar. This includes bottled water. Fruit juicesor hand-crafted non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. If you have anyquestions about this restriction, please ask them.

Thefeast is a revolving sideboard, so you are welcome to sit with friends as youlike, there is plenty of room. Please bring your banners, your best feast gear,all of your festive finery! If there is something you would like to hang on thewalls, please contact Baroness Allessandra, the event Steward, we may be ableto accommodate you!



TableDecorating Competition

A Traditionalcompetition in the Barony of the Steppes. Come make your table look festive andwelcome. Bring out your best dishes and drapery. Festoon your table withgreenery and finery.

Please sign up on-site.You will receive a token which will allow our judges to come look at yourbeautiful scene. Prizes will be for “Best Russian Table” (for our Baroness) and“Best Steppes Table”.

SteppesCostume Contest

Another  traditional favorite in the Steppes. Wear yourbest to Twelfth Night. Categories include: Ancient, Early and Late for Men,Women and Youth. Prizes will be awarded.


 
TabletopSiege Engine Competition

Dimensions for the siege engines arepending. Rule of thumb, these are toy size, not what you can fit on the top ofthe entire table.


 
KingdomEisteddfod

Watch as the best bardsfrom across the kingdom face off against each other and....the Wheel of Doom!Who will emerge victorious and be named the 32nd Premier Bard of Ansteorra?Join us at Steppes Twelfth Night, on January 3, 2015, to enjoy some of the bestbardic Ansteorra has to offer and find out!

The competition will bea bard vs bard, double elimination format, with each round having a themedetermined by the Wheel of Doom. The themes on thewheel will be: Ansteorra, Period/Period Style (documented), War, Love, Death,Drinking, Chivalry, Audience Participation, Open (Bard's Best), Crown's Choice.

Bye rounds shall be destructive, and shall be performedagainst a former Premier Bard. In addition to the regular panel of judges, 9random audience members will be chosen, who will cast a collective"populace vote". There are no style (song, poetry, story,instrumental) requirements, and documentation is only required for one piece(the period/period style piece). Any questions should be directed to theoutgoing Premier Bard, Master Alden Drake at alden_drake at sbcglobal.net.

Also: Themes will not beduplicated; the Wheel of Doom will be spun at the beginning of each round.Audience desired and welcomed!


 
SubtletyContest

Come use your talentsto disguise food as other food, or as non-food.   It can be sweet orsavory, but it must be delicious.  Please submit entries at 8 pm on thefeast cart designated. Winners will receive prizes, and be served to HerExcellency! (Please note: an ingredient list is required. Our resplendentBaroness is allergic to onions, tomatoes, and strawberries.)


 
“AnniversaryTree” for Her Excellency Ekaterine Iadorovna Kharlampieva

The first anniversaryis traditionally commemorated with paper. Come make a paper ornament and placeit on Her Excellency’s Christmas tree to let her know how much she has done tomake the Barony of the Steppes a beautiful, wonderful and welcoming place. Wewill provide paper, scissors, glue and other “implements of creation” to make amemory for Her Excellency to treasure. (You are welcome to bring an ornamentrather than make one, or to do both. Paper is encouraged, but not required forthis keepsake gift.)


 

 
OtherEntertainments

There will also be tablegames, European dancing, live musicians and singers, an Heraldic consulting table,and Merchants. If you are interested in helping with any or all of these things,please contact Baroness Allessandra, the event Steward.

Due to sitelimitations, we will not be able to host merchants this 12th Night.So please, fine and wondrous merchants of Ansteorra and the Knowne World, comeand relax with us this year!
